Dr Damian Spruce is a public policy professional with experience managing complex and demanding political environments at global and regional level, developing policy and building coalitions for reform. Working for Caritas, one of the world’s largest humanitarian organisations, he has managed advocacy teams working across international confederations, crafting and executing strategies for high impact campaigns. As a director with emergency service and law enforcement agencies he has delivered effective strategic advice in time-pressured environments. This builds on his parliamentary experience as Chief of Staff in the Federal Opposition in the portfolios of the Attorney-General and Environment, Climate Change and Water, and as Senior Policy Adviser to the NSW Attorney General. He is currently a senior advocacy adviser on oceans conservation and climate action for the Minderoo Foundation. He was elected to the Executive Committee in 2025.
